Adoption is a calling that has been placed deeply within our hearts. Along with our three sons, we are excitedly waiting to bring our children home.
We have chosen to adopt from the beautiful country of Colombia. The adoption need in Colombia is due mostly to extreme poverty. When we decided to move forward, we wanted to help those who need it the most. We have opened our hearts and family to siblings and special needs children. While we know this is a huge undertaking, we feel certain that God will provide the means as we follow the path He lays before us.
The average international adoption or domestic private adoption cost is about $30,000, not including travel. Seems overwhelming doesn't it? Yeah, I know. So many children without homes and families. So many needing love. So many waiting. So expensive. The high cost is staggering, but think for a minute what it requires to bring a child out of that situation. Think about how easy it COULD be. If 3,000 people were to donate just $10, a child could find a forever family. Single puzzle pieces coming together; each one with intention and purpose. If 3,000 people were to skip their burger and fries for lunch one day. If 3,000 people would rent a movie instead of seeing one at the theater… or not get a coke and popcorn for the show. That's how EASY it COULD be to save a child. That is what we are asking each of you.
We are asking that each of you give whatever you can. A dollar? Ten? Any gift, no matter the amount, is appreciated for it's generosity. Then forward this on to anyone and everyone you know. 3,000 people are not very many. Post it on facebook! Email it to your prayer groups or friends circles! Send it out to your Sunday School classes, or your play date moms! Your gym buddies, you children's teachers, your co-workers. Send it to EVERYONE!
We are getting so close. We are very grateful for every gift that others have given to bring our children home. We only have $6,415 (plus travel) left to go! We are praying for a "loaves and fishes" miracle. God can do great things with even a little.
With Love,
Brian and Shannon Hardesty
